About Aaron Chang

Raised in San Diego, California, Aaron Chang is an award winning, internationally acclaimed artist. His work has been published all over the world in hundreds of books and magazines including  National Geographic, Newsweek, Forbes, Elle, Rolling Stone, People, ESPN, Sports Illustrated, Musician, Think Design, Le Fourquet, and  Riviera.  “People always ask me who the best surf photographer is,” Surfer magazine photo editor Jeff Divine said in 1994, “and I’ve always said Aaron Chang.”

American Photographer magazine named Chang as one of the top five emerging American sports photographers in 1980, and in 1985 Chang was the subject of an American Photographer cover story. He was by then expert in all aspects of surf photography: action shots (taken from water or land), portraiture, candids, landscapes, and lifestyle. His composition was masterful; the color palette he worked from was broader than that of any of his surf-world peers. – Encyclopedia of Surfing
