For Aaron Chang, photography has always been a way to communicate. He was a very shy an introverted young teenager and it was through photography that he found his voice. Aaron would say that photography is the language of our time.
When it comes to surf photography, many say Aaron Chang walks on water, but he is also among the most successful fine art photographers in the world. His photos have graced more than a hundred magazine covers, and he’s traveled far for that perfect shot.
The San Diego Tourism Board named Aaron the Ambassador of the Arts. According to Aaron “it was a real honor to appointed Ambassador of Art by the Tourism Board. I’m glad that they have confidence in me.”
Aaron will frequently show fine art photography enthusiasts how he shoots some of his most iconic photos in his popular blog on his website: AaronChang.com. In these videos, Aaron explains the stories behind his shots and gives tips to aspiring photographers and amateurs alike.
Aaron has shot many tens of thousands of wave photographs in his lifetime. He has travelled the world, visiting over 40 countries. Lately, Aaron has been applying his international skill set to his own backyard of San Diego, creating magnificent abstract surf art. Aaron was nominated “Best Artist” and his gallery “Best Gallery” by Ranch and Coast readers for the past 4 years.
“Every moment counts, and, so, to really live life is probably one of the most important lessons that I’ve learned doing photography.” – Aaron Chang
